Yahoo is selling off its delicious social bookmark posting site, after practically five years of possession.
Technology startup AVOS, founded by YouTube founders, Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, is obtaining delicious by having an undisclosed sum from Yahoo. Hurley and Chen offered YouTube to Google for $1.65 billion in October of 2006.
“We spoke with a lot of parties thinking about obtaining the site, and chose Chad and Steve depending on their passion as well as other vision for Delicious,” pointed out John Matheny, SVP of Communications and Metropolitan areas at Yahoo within the statement.
AVOS has pledged to assist grow and expand delicious allow clients to, “identify the web’s most delicious content.”
Yahoo acquired delicious (initially known to as del.icio.us) in December of 2005. Lately, Yahoo has fought with keeping delicious open and introduced their intention to discover a new owner for your site in the finish of 2010.
Yahoo sent notices to delicious clients yesterday notifying them in the new possession change.
